About the Role

Job Summary:


The Creative Mentor role works with young people on a 1-2-1 and small group setting to support and develop not only their creative interests but also to provide a safe, nurturing environment for personal growth and development.


Our work at AIMCommunity is underpinned by Youth Work principles and practice with young people at the centre of the work we undertake. The role includes preparing, delivering and evaluating meaningful sessions for young people as well as communicating well with referrers, parents and carers. The role requires individuals to be passionate about engaging with young people to inspire and informally educate. 


The role requires flexibility for delivering sessions, possibly at multiple locations and to be able to adapt and flex with differing needs of young people.


** We are ideally looking for a new mentor who has experience in one or more of the following areas - music/music production/art/ digital art.

ABOUT THE ROLE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Day to Day Delivery

  1. Understanding of daily delivery of all aspects of Creative Mentoring programme;

  2. Ensure young people allocated receive the support level required;

  3. Ensuring staff/volunteer levels are met each day;

  4. Ensuring that AIMCommunity Health & Safety Policy requirements are met on a daily basis;

  5. Ensuring AIMCommunity Safeguarding Policy requirements are met on a daily basis;

  6. Plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate 1:1 sessions with young people as part of the Creative Mentoring programme;

  7. Attend/ contribute to review meetings for young people;
